Emily Eilene Schultz
About Emily
Emily Schultz, CPM, LCPM, EMT is a holistic home birth midwife located in Yellow Springs, OH. After being born at home and having had several home births herself (among a variety of other birth experiences - including breeches, twins, and triplets), Emily has a passion for offering skilled and ethical home-based care. She advocates for unhindered birth where families feel deeply supported, heard, and loved along the way. Emily originally trained and practiced as a traditional DEM (direct entry midwife) before later certifying as a CPM (certified professional midwife). She always stays up to date with midwifery trainings, evidenced based care, and always exceeds the requirements to maintain her licenses and certifications. She frequently attends ongoing trainings specializing in midwifery care for twins, breech, hands-on skills labs, and other birth emergency courses to keep her midwifery skills sharp. Offering skilled and ethical care feels extremely important to her. Emily is also a clinical preceptor for NARM and IRM. She often has amazing students in her practice who are certifying as a CPM and/or a CIM. Emily has a diverse medical background including working in pathology assisting autopsies (morbid, I know) - while maintaining a 4.0 during her nursing education. She also has well over 20+ years of holistic nutrition, pregnancy, birth, attachment parenting, and lactation experience and expertise. Emily has been married to her wonderful husband since 2001. They met in Bible College and got married only a few months later. Their first son was born the next year in December of 2002. Their youngest son was just born in the Spring of 2023. All of their children are boys! Emily’s children are her pride and joy! In their spare time, they enjoy basketball, hiking, biking, camping, gardening, amusement parks, traveling whenever and whenever they can, and as many family dinners as they can get together (preferably on the back patio!). All of their kids friends come over by the handfuls and they wouldn't have it any other way!! They always joke that their house feels like a frat house with as many boys as there are at any given moment. Emily works very hard to balance midwifery and her family so that her husband, children, and her current clients can have the best of her, as she loves being a mother and a midwife.
